About The Megabucks Amateur Pool League
Founded in 2008, The Megabucks Amateur Pool League has developed into one of the top amateur singles pool leagues in New York City. The MAPL is a competitive recreational cue sports organization that offers formats in 8-ball, 9-ball, 10-ball, and straight pool. Free pool lessons are also available via BCA recognized instructors.
With the league’s ERS handicap points system members can compete on an equal playing field regardless of skill or ability. For example, a beginner-mid level player has the same advantage as an intermediate-advanced player when playing in a match formulated via the ERS format. Members get credit for all games won during a match even if the outcome is not in their favor. As a result, they become more motivated to play and compete week after week.
This coed amateur pool league was designed specifically for the average player who loves to compete. It is aimed at the beginner and intermediate pool player and is structured in a way that adheres to that of a professional format. In short, it allows the novice player to compete on a professional stage.
To be eligible to participate in the Megabucks Amateur Pool League you must be an amateur pool player. APA members with skill levels 1 through 9 and BCAPL members with skill levels D through B+ are perfect for the current format. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OR OLDER.
