Introduction

Welcome to the Megabucks Amateur Pool League (MAPL), a singles-only amateur pool league where enthusiasts can compete, improve, and enjoy the game of pool. By becoming a member of the MAPL, you agree to adhere to the following terms and conditions.

Eligibility and Membership

1. Membership Requirements: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Membership is open to amateur pool players only; individuals deemed professional pool players are ineligible to participate.
2. Membership Fees: The annual membership fee is $60, plus any applicable taxes. Membership is valid from the start to the end of a designated session within each calendar year.
3. Application Process: Applicants must provide accurate and complete information on the membership application. Membership is subject to approval by the MAPL and may be declined in our sole discretion. Fees for unaccepted applications will be refunded.
4. Membership Benefits: Members are granted access to league play, tournaments, and events. Additionally, membership provides access to online resources and exclusive discounts at our league store.

League Play and Conduct

1. Participation: To participate in MAPL events, members must present a valid photo ID.
2. Weekly Fees: Members are required to pay weekly fees set by the MAPL for participation in league activities. These fees are due on time as specified.
3. Sportsmanship: The MAPL strongly values sportsmanship and respectful behavior. Any unsportsmanlike conduct may lead to suspension or termination of membership.
4. Alcohol Consumption: League play may take place in venues that serve alcohol. Members are responsible for their consumption and are encouraged to drink responsibly. The MAPL is not liable for incidents arising from alcohol consumption.

Rights and Responsibilities

1. Data and Privacy: Members agree to provide current contact information for league communications. The MAPL is not responsible for missed communications due to incorrect information. Members consent to the use of their data as outlined in the MAPL’s Privacy Policy.
2. Media and Promotions: By participating in MAPL events, members grant the MAPL the right to use their image and likeness for promotional purposes without compensation.
3. Liability and Waivers: Members release the MAPL from claims related to injuries or losses incurred during league activities, except as prohibited by law. Members are liable for damages caused by their actions during MAPL events.

General Provisions

1. Venue Authority: Host locations have the right to enforce their own rules and may refuse service or eject individuals based on their sole discretion. The MAPL has no control over these decisions.
2. Amendments: The MAPL reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Continued membership following such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Dispute Resolution

1. Appeals: Decisions made by the MAPL regarding membership and participation can be appealed internally. The MAPL’s decisions are final.
2. Legal Action: Members agree not to pursue legal action against the MAPL for disputes arising from these terms or league participation. Members found in violation of this clause are responsible for legal costs incurred by the MAPL in defense.
